Another year has come and gone. This is the one time of the year when everyone is looking back at what they have done over not just the last year, but what they have done over the course of their life time. It is also the time to determine how they can change for the future, dream BIG! Every year I make a list of goals for not just one part of my life, but every aspect. I look at how I can improve my career, home, spirituality, health& fitness, finances and when appropriate education.
Last years goals were meet at about 60% completion. My health and fitness goals were not meet, but unfortunately much because of an injury (and I may have over estimated my time and ability). However I learned from that and made changes for this year's goals to make them more achievable. I have also found sharing or posting goals somewhere in your house helps with accountability. This can be a good or bad thing depending on if those around you are supporting your goals or not. In that case you have to remember that you created your goals for YOU not your spouse, family, or friends. (We all know the saying...Haters gonna hate.) Not only that but when our goals are in line with what God wants for us we know that the world will try to keep us down. This is when it is most important to pray and stay strong in our faith. We are the light in a very dark world and must shine that light for the purpose God has for us.
No matter what your goals are remember that God should be the center of those goals.
