Today has been a reflection on accountability. Any time we decide to change our lifestyle in some way it can be difficult without a cheerleader in our corner. No matter the goal we want to achieve we need encouragement from someone at some point.
Goals often come with two types of people around you, the supporters and the haters. Now, I don't mean that people are going to hate you for having your goal. No, these haters come from jealousy and a desire to make a change or be happier themselves. These people are the ones you limit your conversations about your goals with. We don't have to write them off completely just remember that they are not in the same place you are with your goal.
The supports on the other hand are the ones you lean on. If you are struggling or losing drive toward your goal these are the people that will push you forward. When your goals are in line with the purpose God has for you he will place these people in your life and when you need them pray and God will send them to you.
Find a supporter that you can go to as your accountability person/partner. This person will be there to cheer you on as you work toward your goal. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your goal with anyone close to you or just want outside support try finding an online community that you can join. Preferably one that is for the area of your goal. However if you can't find one a group that is full of others trying to achieve their own goals and also looking for support can work well too.
Don't let anything or anyone get in the way of the goals you have set. God will provide the tools and people to support you for the purpose he has given you.
